Washing apparel, refreshing rain protection, and cleaning coolers and hammocks.
Wash in cold water on a gentle cycle, skip fabric softener (it coats the fibers and reduces warmth and wicking), and tumble dry low or hang to dry. Washing inside-out protects any print or embroidery. Always check the product's own care label first.
Wash the jacket first to remove dirt and oils that stop water from beading, then apply a wash-in or spray-on DWR treatment and gently heat-set it with a low tumble dry or a warm iron through a cloth if the label allows. This restores beading without replacing the jacket.
Wash with warm soapy water, rinse, and let it dry fully with the lid open before storing to prevent odor and mildew. For stubborn smells, wipe with baking soda or diluted vinegar. Store it dry, out of direct sun, with the lid cracked.
Shake out debris, spot-clean with mild soap and water, and let it dry completely before packing it away. Avoid harsh detergents and prolonged sun exposure, which weaken the fabric over time. Store it dry in its stuff sack.
